                       എസ്റ്റിമേറ്റ് തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടി NIC  രൂപകല്പന ചെയ്ത PRICE SOFTWARE കേരളത്തിലെ മുഴുവന്‍ എന്‍ജിനീയറിംഗ് വകുപ്പുകളിലും വന്‍ വിജയമായി തീര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഇപ്പോഴും ചിലരില്‍ ഇതുപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് സംബന്ധിച്ച് ചില സംശയങ്ങള്‍ നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നതായി മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നു. അവര്‍ താഴെ പറയുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക...

• While preparing the estimate on PRICE first you select all the specifications required for the work and there after enter the measurements by clicking on each specification·
• The multiple selection of specification is possible in the same subhead. But the order of specification is as per the order that in the sub head·
• While entering the measurements you can add the rows by simply pressing the enter button in the Key board.
• if an  Observed data  is used in an estimate you can edit it on Data Analisis tab by clicking on EDIT OD button.
• One user cannot add a template to a file created by another AE.
• All AE s are requested to create sample estimate for Tarring, Retarring, Protection wall, Concreting, Building etc. and make it as template. Create the file using this template and forward it for estimate preparation to Subordinate officers so that they can prepare the estimate in a unique manner.· Jilla panchayat AE,s may also follow this and it will minimise the burden of estimate preparation.
• In Project details Details 3 is the page for uploading the supporting documents·All the supporting documents should be in pdf format.
• · You cannot upload multiple files in the same head of documents . You can club the pages through continuous scan option in the scanner and make it as a single document and then upload.
• · You can delete a file uploaded at any time before TS and replace by simply browsing the new file.
• · All the reports in PRICE such as detailed estimate,Abstract,etc. are generated in pdf formats. Check your browser settings whether it is allow popups.If not you cannot view the file. So please allow popups in your browser.You can delete a file uploaded at any time before TS and replace by simply browsing the new file.
• · You cannot delete an Observed data if it is used in an estimate.
• · You can edit the OD in the concerned estimate by clicking on Data analisis tab.
• · In data Analisis tab you can see all the datas which is used in the estimate including Observed Data. Here the OD can edit using EDIT OD button.
• · Any officer can edit the OD in his LOGIN and the editing is only affected in the concerned estimate.
• · No user other than AE can create a Template from any other files.
• · Others can use or edit this file when it is forwarded to them.Even add or delete the specification to the estimate.
• · An estimate created by any other user with any cost index and mode of execution , it is changed to the New users preferred cost index and mode of execution when using as template.

• · Now provision have included to give TS power to Assistant Engineers up to the works costs Rs 1.00 lakh.
• · For this first Create an estimate, and forward to Overseer.Remeber one thing that in the details 1 tab select TS in this case instead of AS since AEs don't have AS power. Overseer shall prepare the estimate and get it back to AE . Then AE give TS by selecting TS Approved option in the Forward tab action button.
• · While entering the measurements under a specification click on add measurements button and enter the measurements. Then tap on enter button in the key board . you can see another row with the same measurements and you just edit the figures. Continue this till the end of all measurements under a specification. Then only click on save measurements button. If You click on save measurements button after each measurement a gap between measurements will be formed with a description “No heading”.
• · Now more Observed datas like pot hole filling etc. are added in Approved OD LSGD under head 51 and all are requested to use this Approved OD instead of your own OD if already created.
• · You can search the files on keyword basis. For example if you type “building” in keyword box you can see all the files including the word “building” .This option is very useful to search a particular type of work.
• · If an AE have charge on two or more panchayats an additional tab will be provided as “Switch Office” near the logout button at the top right corner in the Home page. Just click on this tab and select the appropriate Panchayat and proceed.
• · While forwarding the file you can see the Overseers based on the selection of panchayat at the home page and so the switch office option is very important in case of the additional charge of AE’s.
• · If an AE have additional charge or transfer it should be informed to the pricelsgd@gmail.com in the prescribed Performa with the Order of Transfer or additional charge and send a signed hard copy through Tapal to CE Office in proper channel.
• · The Performa will be available on the proforma sheet of the website of CE.
• · In observed Data creation we have three options create New,Create from Existing and Create from Spec. First option is for create a new data which is not any where in PRICE. Second one is for editing and creating an OD from an existing OD created by the user and the last one is for editing and creating an OD from existing DAR ,MORD, and MORTH Specification.
• · While creating OD enter the corresponding code No. of labour and material as per DSR and the name,unit and rate are displayed automatically.you have to enter the Qty. only .The approved Market rate also can use like this.
• · While entering the code No. it should be enter as 4 digit number (eg.0009 instead of 9) otherwise PRICE itenrpreted it as MR .
• · An officer can take back the file from his subordinate officer without any permission using callback option.
• · For this click on Call back button in the home page. Here all the files which you have sent to the subordinate officer are displayed here and select the file you want to take back. Then click on the PICK FILE button at the top right corner.
• · The file you selected will move to your inbox and you can do anything to this file.
• · You can now prepare BOQ in item rate wise and percentage wise.
• · For this click on BOQ button in the home page. Here the list of all TS approved 
• estimates are displayed. Then select the file you want to prepare the BOQ.
• · The file is opened and You click the Generate BOQ button . You will be prompted which type of BOQ you want to save .ie Itemrate or Percentage.Select it and press OK .
• · Again go to Home page and click on BOQ Tab. Here you can see a green tab BOQ Generated.
•  Click on this . Select the option and show the drive to save the file in Your computer.
• Now option is included for rounding up the estimate amount and provision for GST compensation.
